Saudi Winds

Saudi Winds

2019

Fans / Saudi Sand / Arduino / white canvas

While ink impregnates the page and fixes characters into paper, sand is viscous and volatile, it moves affected by the air currents and never settles permanently. Sand is the medium of this dynamic drawing, which reacts to the wind currents of Saudi Arabia fetched by open source electronic and live stream of online data. This project was conducted within the Fannan Program as part of the first Saudi Artist residency program by Misk Art Institute.
